Religious Outrage

It puzzles, saddens and angers me that there is so much feigned outrage over a YouTube movie trailer, which is still being reported as the cause of the violent protests and the murder of Americans, but the same people, who seem to understand the “frustration” and “outrage” over a movie trailer on the Internet (not shown in their home towns or houses or worship), plead for tolerance and understanding for Pussy Riot, calling them a “girl band” rather than a protest group, though their actions were to violate and desecrate religious paintings, artifacts and houses of worship—in the midst of services. How can the two responses be reconciled?
